No bleach and no fabric softener: softener coats the fibre and makes linen less absorbent. Tumble dry low or line dry, and take it out while it is still slightly damp; the crumpled look is the point, so ironing is optional. Linen sheds a little lint in its first washes and softens noticeably over the first month of use.
