Linen Duvet Cover — Chalk
A plain linen duvet cover with a 2 cm flat flange running all the way round the edge, closed at the foot with coconut-shell buttons. Four cotton ties inside the corners hold the duvet in place so it does not bunch to one end.
Chalk is a soft off-white: lighter than raw linen, but not the bright optical white of a hotel sheet.
It is a cover only; the duvet inside is not included. The flange is counted in the sizes below, so the area that covers the duvet itself is about 4 cm smaller each way. Linen is cooler and heavier than cotton, and it will crease the moment you lie on it. Pale linen shows marks and the darker natural flecks in the flax more than the other colours do. It is the colour to choose if you want a white bed that still looks like linen.

Care. Machine wash at 40°C on a gentle cycle with a mild liquid detergent, and wash Dusk and Charcoal on their own for the first few washes. No bleach and no fabric softener: softener coats the fibre and makes linen less absorbent. Tumble dry low or line dry, and take it out while it is still slightly damp; the crumpled look is the point, so ironing is optional. Linen sheds a little lint in its first washes and softens noticeably over the first month of use. More on Care & Materials.
