Linen Sheet Set — Oat
A flat sheet, a fitted sheet and pillowcases, all in the same linen and the same colour. Plain hems on the flat sheet, elastic all the way round the fitted sheet, and simple envelope-back pillowcases without a flange, so the set sits quietly under a duvet cover.
Oat is the warm, sandy beige closest to linen's natural colour before any dye.
New linen sheets feel slightly crisp and textured for the first few nights, then soften with every wash; they never become smooth like sateen. The Twin set has one pillowcase, the Queen and King sets have two. Natural flax colour varies from one dye lot to the next, so two Oat pieces bought months apart can differ by a shade, a little warmer or a little greyer.

Care. Machine wash at 40°C on a gentle cycle with a mild liquid detergent, and wash Dusk and Charcoal on their own for the first few washes. No bleach and no fabric softener: softener coats the fibre and makes linen less absorbent. Tumble dry low or line dry, and take it out while it is still slightly damp; the crumpled look is the point, so ironing is optional. Linen sheds a little lint in its first washes and softens noticeably over the first month of use. More on Care & Materials.
